Mark Willcock | Programme Development Manager

Mark joined GovRisk in 2012 and leads programme implementation and business development across Latin America.

Mark has substantial experience leading project teams and conducting technical research in the context of development cooperation and technical assistance in financial crime prevention. Since joining, he has led the development, contracting, implementation, and monitoring of GovRisk’s increasingly complex Latin American portfolio of technical assistance programmes, which has grown nearly 15 times during his tenure. This includes the development and successful implementation of a number of programmes for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the UK Department for International Trade (DIT), USAID, or the U.S. Department of State, among others. Mark has managed a range of multi-cultural expert teams in complex environments in 14 Latin America countries, including: Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, Panama, Peru, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina, Honduras, and El Salvador.

Mark holds an MA in Conflict, Security and Development from King’s College London and a BA in Economics and Spanish from the University of Leeds. He speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese.
