Socorro Torres-Duarte | Vice President

As Vice President for GovRisk, Socorro leads business development efforts across diverse donors and geographies while also taking on project director responsibilities. Previously, as Head of Institutional Fundraising at Transparency International UK (TI-UK), Socorro spearheaded fundraising endeavours encompassing grants and commercial contracts while securing its inclusion in two of the largest HMG procurement frameworks dedicated to governance and security. With nearly 20 years of experience in international development and charity sectors, Socorro has successfully secured and managed multi-year, multi-million contracts in anti-corruption, governance and security, and media development. Notably, she has pioneered new business models for media agencies in Moldova, Belarus, Egypt, and Myanmar.

Socorro's diverse career encompasses roles in Washington, DC-based think tanks, FTSE 100 companies, leading global development consultancies, corporate foundations, and NGOs worldwide. In addition to her professional endeavours, she serves as a Trustee at a London-based music organisation and provides board-level advisory support to two social enterprises.
