Marc Buchner | Chair of the Board and Non-Executive Director

At GovRisk, Marc chairs the Board overseeing corporate governance and supports the executive team in business growth and strategy. Marc additionally represents GovRisk on the board of major UKAID initiatives including the £60M China Business Enabling Programme.

 Marc brings a wealth of experience from areas of international development, impact investing, and consulting. He has more than a decade of country experience from Russia, Syria, Pakistan, and South Sudan, among others. 

As ICAI team lead Marc co-drafted ‘Mapping the UK’s Approach to AML and Anti-corruption’, reporting directly to the parliamentary International Development Committee. Marc was also a part of the founding team of Integrity Global, a major UK research and M&E consultancy. As CEO, Marc led SDDirect to acquisition (bought by Plan International). He has experience leading and delivering a wide range of UKAID  programming including overseeing the technical-leadership of £0.5Bn programme to foster girls’ access to education.

As a founder, operator, and investor, Marc has started and run four positively impactful businesses working on five continents. Marc is currently also the CEO of Envercapital - a global private investment firm that invests in high-growth, sustainable global-good businesses in emerging markets.

Marc has an MSc from University College London. He speaks Russian and Arabic.
